Day 5

Today we went back to La Carpio because we were told that the children rummage through the garbage looking for food and scrap metal and other items that they may sale. We were not allowed in the garbage dump where the truck were unloading, the person in charge claims that they don't allow any children there because of the contamination. The children informed us that there was another where many go rummage. A worker there heard what we wanted to do, and pointed towards the other site. He told us that we will find people looking through the garbage.
Explaining about the other site

Adela and Whitney were told that we are not allowed in.
It is disturbing to know that there are people without any resources and their best bet is the garbage dump.

The location we were led to reminded me of the Grand Canyon, it is huge, and I could not comprehend why...as Adela looked out at this canyon, she remembered how 20 years ago, she was paid 500 colones, the equivalent of one dollar to wash a bag full of dirty clothes. She says that she would wash it there, what today is a garbage dump, used to be a river. it is all dried up filling up
with garbage.

We later prayed for the pastor who was suffering from sciatica nerve and his daughter who has been with fever and an infection for a few days.
Releasing healing to pastor and daughter

Adela and his family/neighbors all commented that since the last time Whitney and Rebecca went, which was January the family is more united and together and more loving, before then, they barely spoke to each other.

Later we had a lunch/training by Sandra before going to the brothel. She gave us the do's and don't's. when we walked in, we found about 80 girls of all ages. The men that were present were all Americans. Rebecca had a word for one of the girls working and we ministered to her. She is 37 years old and the first thing that came out of her mouth was that she does not do this for a living. She explained that she only does this once a month to complete her rent money. She and Rebecca shared pictures of their children and she expressed that she feels that God is punishing her for what she is doing, because she four months ago completed radiation treatment for cancer in the uterus, she claims that there in Costa Rica they have a therapy that is vaginal and very painful. she said this was her fourth time since and is afraid for her health but have no choice, stating that its not like USA or Europe where you can have up to three jobs.

We are not to judge just to love on them, let them know how much God loves them and hears their cries. As much as I wanted to pull up with a bus and grab everyone of them and take them to a safe place, I couldn't, I would be risking the lives of those left behind.

Research, develop ideas and strategies...get the safe house back and up and running. All in a safe way for the children and us.

Day 4

This day was another greatly blessed day, though there were many moments of wanting to break down crying out of love, and desire to see better for these children, I was blessed.

We drove back to San Jose, on the way whenever we stopped we'd give a word or pray for healing and I witnessed pain gone instantly in Jesus' mighty name!

A street in La Carpio
We picked up a missionary couple that reside in Costa Rica. They guided us to La Caprio. This town is extremely poor and at the end of it is the garbage dump. At the entrance of the garbage dump is the trail that leads you to homes. The living conditions is beyond comprehension. These children for survival go to the dump a rummage through the garbage looking for food to eat.
Adela and Rebecca
Adela, a 64 year old woman, who took in two children, a brother and a sister and cares for them. She doesn't even have the means to care for herself, yet her heart goes out for others, and these two. The mother abandoned them and this woman took them in and loves and cares for them as her very own. Rebecca is doing everything possible to get Adela a home. The plan is to buy a pre-made house and place it there on her land. So living conditions may improve. A small grocery shopping was made for Adela.

I had an opportunity to work with some of the children.
I was blessed with more than explaining to them how much God loves and cares for them, but also about focusing on their abilities and God given gifts. I did the shaving cream project with whatever was at hand and the children absolutely loved it. One little girl did not want to do stating that she doesn't know how, and I explained that this is a project that everyone can do. She was the last one, sat on my lap and did it, there are no words to describe how she felt. Now every time a child looks at the art that they produced, they will see how much God loves them and all the gifts He gave them. They were commenting, amongst themselves of how they were going to put it on the wall by their bed.

Afterwards we played with the shaving cream.

Kerry gave an amazing word and we prayed for the healing of a woman with asthma and a baby with fever and an infection.

I held back tears so many times while I was there. But kept it together, looking forward to getting back in the bus to just let it all out. Though they all called me an angel sent from God, they do not realize how much they have blessed me.

I hopped onto to Rebecca's project to get Adela her home, we need donations for this woman of God who gives from her heart out of love, without thinking of herself. I have seen many deplorable conditions of living, but this woman takes in children that are abandoned and loves them as her own, without knowing whether they'll have a meal.

These neighborhood kids are filled with innocence and love, they support and encourage each other, that art session we had demonstrated that and more. They all watch over each other, love each other and every neighbor cares for the other.

Most of them are from Nicaragua, and according to one of Adela's neighbors, their living conditions right now is far better than how they lived in Nicaragua, and she has been living there for 20 years.

Day 3

What am amazing day! We are at La Fortuna, we ministered to a family, where the wife was prophesied over and released healing upon her. The Lord gave her hope and the promise of realizing her dreams. Her grandson came and he is blind in one eye and you can feel how self-conscious he is about that because he has a cloud over the eye ( he is 12). I went into the car to look for shaving cream and food coloring but I didn't have it. So I sat with him and drew a bird and asked him to draw it. He said no, that he can't draw birds, and I said, yes you can, watch. I showed him step by step how to do, and he did. This child was amazed at what he was able to do. Then The Lord spoke to him through me and told him that he should know, that he can do, and he can be, whatever he wants, because God loves him and he was born with an important purpose. I can honestly say that child will and that family will never forget our visit.

The Team: Paula, Kerry, Sandra, Me, Whitney, & Erin
We visited a school in a very underprivileged town but they did not allow us in, note: this is good, they don't know who we are. I can tell you this, if The Lord blesses me with coming again, we have the number of the director of the school so we may plan on visiting and working with the children.

Whitney is planning on changing the name of her center from creative arts to expressive arts! Awesome!

My pastor, Kerry was walking the gardens and met the pool man of the hotel we are staying, they started talking and he and his church are hungry for revival! He invited us to his church. They waited for us for an hour and a half, this was an amazing experience.

Our Prophetic artist for the evening
Coming soon a video documentary of the entire trip!

Kerry, Erin, and Rebecca gave the word, mostly Kerry. I translated. The congregation was prophesied over, healing was released, and we witnessed two healed. ( There was only two who had pain when they first walked into the church) We released the joy of God upon them and did the fire tunnel so that we may impart all of our gifts to them. They went through it a few times, their pastor went through saying, "more, more, more"

They blessed us with prophesying over us at the end.

I was on fire! I never in my life dreamt of having such an experience, I thank my God for opening His arms and receiving me with love, I thank my Father in Heaven for hearing my cries for serving Him, for using me as His instrument.... one of my greatest privileges, is serving our great God!

The House of Healing is partnering with Whitney for realizing the center for restoring the rescued girls and at risk children.

Thank you Jesus!

Day 2

Made an egg carton flower, not great due to the fact that I didn't bring my glue gun!!!! I made a butterfly from a can, I have an idea for that, can say it is not a project to do with my children with special needs.
It's 10:43 am and are now on our way to La Fortuna.

God arranged for a camera man for documenting this assigned job for school, we will have a copy, alleluyah!
Thank you Jesus for an air condition van, and for bringing down the perfect weather from heaven for an extremely restful night.

We arrived Trilaran to where Whitney's house is and the safe house. In it was a man, a guard put there by the bank so no one may use it. Mariah who is the person how has sold everything and came here to save these girls put a $40,000 down payment on that house, she furnished it with about a dozen beds, kitchen etc. was later told by the bank that the house is now $40,000 more than originally priced. Apparently there is a higher source who does not want these girls rescued. The home is to house children from 8 years to 18. Sexual abuse in the country has no boundaries, for even the infants are traffic for the horrible act. Most of the children are sold into this from their very parents due to the poverty. About 80-90% of the sex tourists are AMERICANS! This must stop NOW! In our flight here there were men how were traveling alone, commenting of where they were going, it is one of the places we are going to just love, prophesy and speak to the girls. We have to be careful because the government in charge of making sure the children are safe knows that this team is here for rescuing the children, but I ask... If there are people from other countries who are not, and have not a drop of Costa Rican blood are filled with love and desire put in us by God Himself to save these children, why do they oppose us?

They would have the responsibility to follow through. They see it as too expensive to house, restore and arrest the petifiles. Most of them are tourists.

A gentleman came to the house requesting water for a tank, we ministered and prayed for him and saw healing instantly! No pain! Amazing!

Mission Trip: Costa Rica 2013

Costa Rica is located in Central America, with Nicaragua bordering the country to the North and Panama to the South. Costa Rica is a geographically small country with a population of over 4.5 million.

Teeming with biological diversity, beautiful beaches and rainforests, tourism has boomed as one of the country's major industries over the past decade and a half. Along with this boom Costa Rica has also developed a major sex tourism industry. Many sex tourists arrive with the intention of purchasing sex with minors, and unfortunately this transaction is still all too easy. These children, boys and girls, are not only from Costa Rica, but from all over the world. Many have been victims of trafficking.

Until June of 2012, Costa Rica was considered a "Tier 3" country on the United States Human Trafficking Watch List.

Those countries considered Tier 1 are countries whose governments fully comply with the Trafficking Victims Protection Act’s (TVPA) minimum standards, while Tier 2 countries are those whose governments do not fully comply with the TVPA’s minimum standards, but are making significant efforts to bring themselves into compliance with those standards.

TIER 3 countries are those whose governments do not fully comply with the minimum standards and are not making significant efforts to do so.

According to the State Department's annual Trafficking in Persons Report, as of June 19th, 2012, Costa Rica moved from a "Tier 3" to a "Tier 2" country.

This change reflects ongoing efforts in Costa Rica to educate and fight against the trafficking of humans, but does not negate the fact that everyday in Costa Rica children are still sold for sex, and in very visible places. These children still lack basic rights to safety, agency, and control over their bodies. Their pain and trauma is very real. Their wounds are real, and they need safe places to heal.
The House of Healing Outreach Ministries (HOHOM) in partnership with New Thing Fellowship and BeLoved Ministries will be traveling to Costa Rica April 22-27. This Mission Team was put together by Senior Pastor Kerry Black of New Thing Fellowship, the plan is to minister to the rescued young ladies, offer training (Sandra, BeLoved) to those who want to learn how to minister to ones yet rescued, bringing greater restoration through the creative arts (Lee, House of Healing), and possibly meeting with government officials in helping them gain understanding of the trafficking industry in order to make better laws.

If you wish to contribute to this cause, email: Houseohealing@gmail.com with your contact info and someone will contact you.

God Bless
